Uzbekistan and Hungary have reached an agreement on the use of Hungarian refrigeration technology in the construction of a nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan.

Hungarian Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Peter Szijjarto made a statement on the issue on his Facebook page, Trend reported.

Szijjarto noted that Uzbekistan is preparing to build a nuclear power plant due to the doubling of electricity demand by 2030. Szijjarto also informed about the training of future Uzbek nuclear workers in Hungary, where preparations are already underway for the construction of two new power units.

The minister also said that according to the agreement, Uzbekistan will sign a contract with Rosatom for the construction of a new power plant, and Hungarian cooling technology will be used. The contract, worth over $ 100 million, will be one of the largest energy export deals in the history of Hungary.
