Alexey Likhachev, General Director of the Russian state corporation Rosatom, said that work on the contract for the construction of a nuclear power plant (NPP) in Uzbekistan is at the final stage, Trend reported.
According to the information obtained, Likhachev, in his speech at the Primakov Readings forum, noted that Rosatom and Uzbekistan reached an agreement on important issues in 2019, despite the interruption of many processes due to the pandemic.
He emphasised that the project in Uzbekistan has not been suspended and work on the contract continues quite intensively. Rosatom State Corporation reportedly offered Uzbekistan additional options, including small capacity and staff training. Likhachev expressed his belief that the signing of the contract is not far off.
