Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United Kingdom Ravshan Usmanov met with Lord Malcolm Offord, Minister of State for Business and Trade and Minister for Exports of the United Kingdom, Trend reports.
According to information, Lord Offord noted that the UK considers Uzbekistan a key partner in Central Asia and is interested in deepening cooperation with Tashkent in various fields.
It is reported that the current and future directions of trade, economic, investment and educational relations between the two countries were discussed at the meeting. Lord Offord expressed support for ideas to expand internship and training programmes for Uzbek civil servants in leading British institutions and companies.
The two sides agreed to organise special training sessions for Uzbek export companies on preferences under the British “Trade System for Developing Countries” and to implement major investment projects in Uzbekistan with the participation of the British Export Finance Agency.
