The United States has tightened sanctions against Russia’s Gazprom Neft, adding its subsidiaries operating in Central Asia to the sanctions list.
As Trend reports with reference to the US Treasury Department, the sanctions include the following companies: Gazprom Neft Asia LLC and Munai-Myrza JSC in Kyrgyzstan, Gazprom Neft Tajikistan LLC and Gazprom Neft Kazakhstan LLP.
These actions are part of an ongoing strategy to restrict the activities of Russian energy companies abroad. The inclusion of Central Asian subsidiaries underlines the international community’s expanding efforts to reduce Russia’s energy influence in the region.
At the time of publication, there were no comments from Gazprom Neft or its regional subsidiaries on the sanctions imposed.
