Ukraine and the United Kingdom have signed an agreement on the development of defence capabilities. The agreement provides for the supply, repair and partial production of air defence systems, armoured vehicles and ammunition.
RBC-Ukraine reports, citing the Presidential Office.
According to the document, British suppliers will be able to sign loan agreements and contracts with Ukraine in the amount of £ 2 billion (over $ 2.5 billion). This amount may be increased in the future. The repayment period of the loan is 15 years.
The agreement on official loan support for the development of Ukraine’s defence capabilities was signed by Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov and UK Defence Secretary John Healey in the presence of President Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The agreement is planned to provide the Ukrainian Defence Forces with air defence systems, radar and defence equipment, acquire technologies and master the partial production of barrels, spare parts and components for artillery equipment and Western-style armoured vehicles by 2026.
