The operators of gas transportation systems (GTS) of Ukraine, Romania and Moldova have started discussing a project to increase the reverse capacity of the Trans-Balkan pipeline.
According to TASS, citing the press service of the Ukrainian GTS Operator (OGTSU)
“The Ukrainian gas transport system operator, jointly with the GTS operators of Romania and the Republic of Moldova, is starting public consultations on the expansion of the reverse capacity of the Trans-Balkan pipeline under the new (increased) capacity procedure,” the operator’s website said.
It is explained that the project envisages the creation of guaranteed capacity from Romania to Ukraine and from Moldova to Ukraine. The parties have started consultations on the project documentation. The project is based on the assessment of market demand for capacity expansion for interstate interconnection points carried out by operators last year.
