On the margins of the Turkmen-American Forum, it was noted that the business interest of American companies in Turkmenistan is gradually growing.
On 5 December, the 10th anniversary of the Turkmen-American business forum was held in the capital of Turkmenistan. During the event, which was held in the format of a round table, leading American companies presented their proposals for the development of cooperation with Turkmenistan. This was reported by CentralAsia.news.
Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Batyr Atdaev and Executive Director of the Turkmenistan-US Business Council Eric Stewart noted that in recent years the two countries have signed many agreements on cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and investment.
Atdaev emphasised the growing interest of US companies in Turkmenistan. Currently, 180 projects involving US investments totalling $3.3 billion are being implemented in the country.
Atdaev also noted that the volume of trade between Turkmenistan and the United States was $ 38.7 million in 2022 and increased to $ 65 million in January-October 2023.
Atdaev said that Turkmenistan is interested in attracting American investments and technologies to create new scientific and innovative industries.
Atdaev also noted that Turkmenistan’s foreign policy course, based on the “open door” policy, provides new opportunities for expanding cooperation with the United States and other countries.
