Turkmenistan has initiated the creation of the format “Central Asia + ASEAN”.
As Trend reports, it became known during the regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers chaired by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
In order to expand cooperation and taking into account the presidency of Malaysia in 2025 in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), it is proposed to start implementing Turkmenistan’s initiative to create the format ‘Central Asia + ASEAN’.
It should be noted that the President of Turkmenistan paid an official visit to Malaysia on 18-19 December. One of the main vectors of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy is the development of ties with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. At the same time, a special place is given to cooperation with Malaysia.
