Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar on March 19. Minister Bayraktar delivered a speech on “International Year of Peace and Trust: The Role of Interregional Economic Cooperation in Ensuring Sustainable Development”.
President Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the results of the international forum will give a great impetus to the further expansion and strengthening of interstate cooperation in the energy sector. For his part, Minister Bayraktar noted that friendly Turkmen-Turkish relations are a solid foundation for the successful implementation of priority tasks in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The importance of active cooperation with Turkey in the energy sector was emphasized. It was emphasized that the supply of Turkmen gas to Turkey and other interested states is one of the most important issues. Confirming Turkmenistan’s readiness to further intensify its partnership with Turkey in the energy sector, President Berdimuhamedov also expressed the interest of the Turkmen side to consider concrete proposals on other issues of interest to his country and to support constructive initiatives of Turkish partners.
