Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Georgia Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov held a meeting with First Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia Ioseb Bagaturia. This was reported by the press service of the Turkmen diplomatic mission in Tbilisi.
The parties noted the active development of Turkmen-Georgian relations in all areas and stressed the importance of cultural exchanges for comprehensive cooperation between the countries.
The Ambassador informed about the events organised in Turkmenistan and abroad dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and philosopher Makhtumkuli Fraghi.
Ioseb Bagaturia thanked the Turkmen side for the invitation to the opening ceremony of the monuments to Makhtumkuli Fraghi and Shota Rustaveli in Ashgabat. He also announced that joint cultural events will be held in Georgia in honour of the Turkmen poet.
Plans to organise Turkmenistan Cultural Days in Georgia were discussed. The sides expressed confidence that this event will contribute to the popularisation of Turkmen culture, art, literature and history, strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries and peoples.
