President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Iranian Energy Minister Abbas Ali Abadi and Chairman of the Central Bank of Iran Mohammadreza Farzi. During the visit, the sides discussed the expansion of bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector and diversification of energy supplies to world markets, TDH reported.
As it was noted, fraternal and good-neighborly relations between Turkmenistan and Iran go back to ancient times and today traditionally develop on the basis of mutual respect and understanding both in the bilateral format and within the framework of international organizations.
Trade and economic cooperation is one of the priority areas of bilateral relations. Iran occupies an important place in Turkmenistan’s foreign trade turnover.
