President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with President of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Trend reports with reference to the Kazakh Presidential Administration.
Kasym-Jomart Tokayev expressed gratitude to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for his personal participation in the opening ceremony of the V World Nomad Games.
The President of Kazakhstan noted that the visit of the Chairman of the People’s Council to Astana is of great importance for the further development of bilateral cooperation. According to him, today Kazakh-Turkmen relations are developing very successfully and fully correspond to the level of strategic partnership.
In turn, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked for the traditional warm welcome and wished the large-scale sports event success. The national leader of Turkmenistan noted the high role of Astana in organizing major international events that contribute to increasing the country’s authority in the world arena.
Kasym-Jomart Tokayev and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov discussed the agreements reached earlier in the spheres of trade and economy, energy, transport and logistics and expressed satisfaction with their implementation.
Special attention was paid to further strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, which are developing comprehensively in the spirit of friendship and good neighborliness.
Preparations for the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan in October this year were also discussed.
