The last meeting of the Azerbaijan Economic Council was held in Baku with wide participation. During the meeting, the country’s economic development strategies, financial reforms, innovations in the energy sector and social development goals were discussed. Council members made comprehensive assessments on the current state of the economy and future growth opportunities.

At the beginning of the meeting, the key performance indicators of the Azerbaijani economy for 2024 were discussed. Officials drew attention to the increase in production in the oil and gas sector and the growth of non-energy sectors. They also highlighted the rise in industrial production and the expansion of the service sector. The Council discussed the structural reforms needed to sustain this momentum. Another important agenda item of the meeting was the impact of global economic dynamics on the Azerbaijani economy. In particular, the effects of fluctuations in energy markets, regional trade agreements and international financial developments were analyzed. The Council members noted that the Azerbaijani economy should adapt to these changes and increase its competitiveness. The Economic Council plays a critical role in achieving Azerbaijan’s economic growth targets and meets regularly to discuss strategic issues. At the end of the meeting, concrete proposals and a roadmap for the coming period were determined.
