The cluster will include chemical, machine-building and light industry enterprises.
Russia plans to launch a large industrial cluster in Tajikistan under its own management. The head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov said in an interview with RIA Novosti that the project is in the active phase of development.
The cluster will house production in the chemical industry, machine building and light industry – many Russian entrepreneurs are already interested in co-operation.
The parties have already reached an agreement on a special tax regime for future residents.
This decision was made against the backdrop of growing economic co-operation: the volume of Russian investments in Tajikistan’s economy has reached $1.9 billion, and trade turnover between the countries has increased by 20% in 2024. According to President Emomali Rakhmon, Russia has become a key trade and economic partner of the republic.
