The National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) have discussed possibilities of strengthening partnership relations in the financial sector.
Deputy Chairman of the NBT Gulbahor Naziri held official talks with the head of IFC representative office in the country Farrukh Sultanov. The meeting was held in Dushanbe. During the discussion, special attention was paid to the digitalization of the financial industry and expanding access to innovative financial products. Gulbahor Naziri emphasized that digital transformation of the national economy, introduction of modern technologies in public services and development of e-commerce are key areas that contribute to strengthening the role of the private sector and improving the quality of financial services.During the meeting, the prospects of deepening cooperation in the field of banking and insurance, as well as the realization of joint initiatives were discussed. Among them are the project “Supporting Digital and Innovative Development of the Financial Sector” and the financial inclusion strategy. Special attention was paid to improving financial literacy of the population, including the development of digital financial literacy among young people. The head of the IFC representative office noted the readiness of the corporation to further support the National Bank of Tajikistan in promoting innovation, digitalization and transition to a cashless economy. IFC plans to actively participate in the formation of a sustainable financial ecosystem in the country.
