An important cooperation agreement was signed between the Government of Tajikistan and the European Investment Bank (EIB) on the sidelines of the Central Asia-European Union (EU) Summit, the Tajik Foreign Ministry announced.

The Memorandum of Understanding between the two sides aims to strengthen sustainable transport links between Europe and Central Asia. The agreement envisages the provision of financial support for the modernization of transport infrastructure and the development of trade corridors in the region. The document, signed by Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin and Kyriakos Kakouris, Vice President of the European Investment Bank, covers projects such as improving road and rail networks, establishing logistics hubs and increasing regional connectivity. The agreement supports Tajikistan’s strategy to become a transit hub in Central Asia and is in line with the EU’s Global Gateway initiative. Experts say this cooperation could accelerate economic integration in the region and contribute to Euro-Asian trade.
