Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Mukhriddin met with US Ambassador to Tajikistan Manuel Micaller in the capital Dushanbe. During the meeting, the development of bilateral relations between the two countries and regional security issues were discussed.
Minister Mukhriddin emphasized the importance of the existing cooperation between Tajikistan and the United States, noting the need to expand joint projects, especially in the fields of education, health, economy and security. For his part, Ambassador Micaller reiterated the United States’ support for Tajikistan’s stability and development and called for further strengthening the dialogue between the two countries. They also discussed recent developments in Afghanistan and their implications for regional security. Both sides agreed on the need for increased cooperation on counterterrorism and border security.
