Switzerland is ready to host a possible meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President-elect Donald Trump to discuss the Ukrainian conflict.
“Following the Burgenstock summit, Ukraine, Russia, and the United States were informed of our readiness to support diplomatic efforts for peace,” Swiss Foreign Ministry spokesman Nicolas Bideau said.
However, the Swiss authorities clarified they would not initiate any steps in this regard.
On January 10, Trump stated that preparations were underway for a meeting with Putin, emphasizing the need to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Putin is open to meeting Trump without preconditions.
