Saudi Arabia joined the Conference on Cooperation and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) as an observer state.
According to the report, this marked a milestone in the further geographical expansion of this pan-continental organisation promoting peace and security in Asia.
Saudi Arabia is one of the Gulf States, where CICA already has member states such as Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE and Bahrain. The observer status of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will further increase the sub-region’s representation in CICA, thus enhancing and enriching cooperation across Asia.
Saudi Arabia’s application for observer state status in CICA emphasises the importance of joint efforts in addressing global and regional challenges and reflects the region’s shared aspiration for a more cohesive international community.
