Sullivan to discuss defence cooperation in India on 21-22 February

US Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs Jake Sullivan will visit India on 20-21 February to discuss new agreements on defence cooperation between the two countries.

According to a report by Hindustan Times citing TASS.

Sullivan will hold talks with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval on important agreements, including in the defence sector. The US delegation will also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indian Foreign Minister Subramanyam Jaishankar.

In total, there are about 25 items on the agenda of the talks. Among the main ones are the joint production in India of GE-414 jet engines designed for India’s Tejas light fighter aircraft and the purchase of 31 Predator MQ9B unmanned aerial vehicles by the Indian armed forces.

The two sides will also discuss the security situation of maritime transport in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, China’s role in the Indo-Pacific region, counter-terrorism and the situation in Pakistan.
