South Korea, the United States and Japan will establish a special advisory group to discuss, among other things, cyber security issues related to the fight against North Korea.
This was reported in the office of the South Korean President after a trilateral meeting in Washington at the level of deputy national security advisers of the leaders of the three countries, the Report reported with reference to TASS.
One of the tasks of this group will be to develop measures to interdict North Korea’s activities in cyberspace to finance its nuclear missile programme. Western countries, Seoul and Tokyo have previously made allegations that groups believed to be linked to Pyongyang have organised hacking attacks to steal money.
Participants in the advisory group are expected to meet four times a year. Another objective will be to ensure a common response capability against threats in cyberspace.
