Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar drew attention to the inaction of the European Commission (EC) on the issue of oil transit through Ukraine.

According to the report, Slovakia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs wrote on his social networking page

‘The pumping of oil to Slovakia via the Druzhba pipeline has been ensured, but not thanks to the EC, which has so far been inactive and stalling. Despite the violation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, the solution and assistance to the peoples of Slovakia and Hungary was not facilitated or assisted by the EC,’ said Blanar.

Blanar welcomed the agreement on the transit of oil from Russia to the EU via Ukraine. Thanks to this agreement, the Hungarian oil and gas company MOL takes ownership of the oil transported across the Belarusian-Ukrainian border to Slovakia and other countries.

‘This is good news for Slovak motorists and the economic sector. I would like to thank the Hungarian side for the co-operation,’ said MOL.
