Sergey Lavrov meets with CIS ambassadors in Moscow

In early February, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a traditional meeting in Moscow with ambassadors of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member states accredited in Russia. Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Russia Rahman Mustafayev also took part in the event. This is reported in the press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.The meeting summarized the results of cooperation within the CIS for 2024, as well as outlined key tasks for the next period, especially for 2025, which will be marked in the CIS countries as the Year of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. An important emphasis of the event was placed on further strengthening of foreign policy coordination within the CIS, improving cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and security spheres. The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that 2025 will be a landmark year for the CIS countries with a focus on unity in the fight against Nazism and deepening cooperation in the most important areas. It is planned to strengthen cooperation within the framework of economic, cultural and security projects, which will make it possible to strengthen stability and mutual trust among the CIS members.
