Russian President Vladimir Putin and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon held a telephone conversation aimed at strengthening strategic partnership and alliance relations between the two countries. According to the Kremlin Press Service, the leaders discussed mutually beneficial cooperation steps in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. They also agreed to increase cooperation on security issues. At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to forward relevant instructions to the governments, ministries and agencies of both countries.
Putin and Rahmon also set the schedule for face-to-face meetings. The leaders, who last met in Russia in December 2024, maintain regular contacts through phone calls and meetings.
