A comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between Russia and Iran will be signed during a meeting of the two countries’ presidents in Moscow on January 17, 2025, according to Iranian Ambassador Kazem Jalali.

The Iranian Embassy in Moscow announced that Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian will visit Moscow, where he and Russian President Vladimir Putin will finalize the agreement. This treaty is expected to strengthen bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including energy, transportation, industry, agriculture, culture, science, and technology.

President Putin had previously expressed his anticipation for the agreement, describing it as a new milestone in Russian-Iranian relations. The treaty, fully prepared as of October, has been approved by both sides and marks a significant step in deepening their strategic partnership.

Currently, the two nations operate under the Treaty on the Basis of Mutual Relations and Principles of Cooperation, but the new agreement aims to broaden the scope of collaboration and open new avenues for joint initiatives.
