Heads of transport departments of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan met in Bukhara on 29 October, Trend reports.
According to the information, the meeting was attended by Director of the Centre for the Study of Transport and Logistics Problems under the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Kholmatov and Deputy Chairman of Turkmenavtoulaglary Agency of Turkmenistan V. Khodzhanepesov.
It is reported that the meeting focused on the difficulties faced by Uzbek carriers in transporting goods through Turkmenistan and possible solutions to these problems.
As a result of the meeting, it was decided to set up an interdepartmental working group to promptly resolve emerging issues in the field of transport. In addition, the parties reached an agreement that from 2025, fees and charges will be levied on equal terms.
An agreement was also reached to introduce the E-permit electronic permit exchange system to simplify the issuance of documents and improve the efficiency of freight transport.
