Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan have discussed further strengthening of strategic partnership and cooperation in key sectors.
This was stated at the meeting between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Ashgabat, Trend reports on Friday citing the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
The talks focused on deepening multifaceted cooperation, especially in political, inter-parliamentary, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The two sides noted the importance of further growth of mutual trade turnover, development of cross-border trade zone, as well as strengthening cooperation in such sectors as energy, transport, agriculture and water management.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is in Ashgabat on a working visit, during which he attended the international forum ‘Interconnection of times and civilisations – the basis of peace and development’.
