A delegation from Uzbekistan headed by Uzatom Agency Director Aziz Ahmedhodjayev paid a working visit to Hungary on April 14-16. The delegation examined Hungary’s experience in the field of nuclear energy and nuclear technologies, the National News Agency of Uzbekistan (UzA) reported.
As part of the visit, the delegation held talks with Hungarian State Secretary for Energy and Climate Attila Steiner. The issues of expanding bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of nuclear energy, sharing expertise and realization of joint projects were discussed. Representatives of leading companies operating in the nuclear sector also attended the meetings held at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The Hungarian side presented its achievements and innovative solutions in nuclear technologies. During the talks, technical assistance to the nuclear power plant project in Uzbekistan was discussed, in particular, solutions related to water supply systems. Special attention was paid to the issue of training qualified personnel for the industry. The allocation of places for Uzbek students to study at prestigious higher education institutions in Hungary and the implementation of programs for the professional development of Uzbek specialists in cooperation with the MVM EGI company were discussed. Following the visit, important agreements were reached on deepening cooperation in the field of nuclear energy. The two sides expressed their willingness to implement joint projects on the development of nuclear technologies, training of specialists and implementation of advanced solutions.
