Sanjar Valiyev, Director of the Center for Foreign Policy Studies and International Initiatives at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, and Henrietta Balajthy, Undersecretary of State for Security Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, held a meeting in Budapest.
During the meeting, current cooperation issues in the context of relations with the European Union (EU) were discussed. The sides emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships, deepening dialogue and implementing joint projects to advance mutual interests. Commitment to strengthening economic, political and cultural ties was underlined, while the need to create favorable conditions for cooperation in various sectors was expressed. In particular, the “Central Asia – European Union Summit” to be held in Samarkand in April 2025 was discussed. It was noted that this summit will be an important step in the development of bilateral and multilateral relations. The importance of deepening cooperation between the Central Asian countries and the EU, infrastructure projects and economic initiatives was emphasized. They also discussed current international issues. The sides reiterated their commitment to the principles of mutual respect and constructive dialogue and underlined the need to take into account the interests of all parties in international relations.
