Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov met with Helaine Matz, Special Coordinator of the United States Global Infrastructure and Investment Partnership, Trend reports.
According to the information, the meeting discussed the development of transport infrastructure, attracting private financing to geological and digitalisation projects.
It was reported that this initiative, proposed by the US at the G7 summit in June 2022, aims to mobilise investments for the development of quality infrastructure in developing countries.
It is stated that the US plans to allocate up to $ 200 billion over five years through grants, federal funds and private investments, while the G7 countries plan to allocate up to $ 600 billion. The initiative includes the World Bank and private investment firms such as BlackRock, Brookfield and Global Infrastructure Partners.
There was also a constructive exchange of views on a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues, including investments and the implementation of joint projects.
