Uzbekistan successfully completed negotiations with Pakistan as part of the accession process to the World Trade Organization (WTO). During the negotiations, the development of trade relations, opportunities for mutual economic cooperation and progress in Uzbekistan’s accession process to the WTO were discussed.
During the negotiations, the Pakistani side expressed its support for Uzbekistan’s WTO accession process and emphasized the need to increase the volume of trade between the two countries and promote investment projects. Uzbekistan officials, in turn, briefed on the benefits of WTO membership for the country’s economy and reiterated their commitment to integration into the international trading system. Uzbekistan continues its efforts to accelerate the WTO membership process in order to adapt to the global trade order, increase foreign investments and expand export markets. In this context, the talks with Pakistan are considered as an important step in harmonizing Uzbekistan’s trade policies with international standards. Uzbekistan continues to conduct similar negotiations with other countries in line with its WTO membership, while accelerating its efforts to strengthen regional cooperation and increase its access to global markets.
