Uzbek President Mirziyoyev receives Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan. During the meeting, they discussed the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, in particular, opportunities for cooperation in the economic, trade and investment spheres.

President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership between Japan and Uzbekistan and noted that efforts should be made to increase the volume of trade between the two countries and implement new investment projects. He also stressed the need to further strengthen cooperation in the fields of education, science and technology. In turn, the Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan appreciated Uzbekistan’s support for stabilization and development efforts in the region and expressed Japan’s readiness to further develop its relations with Uzbekistan. In particular, the adviser noted that work will be carried out to implement new projects in the infrastructure, energy and agricultural sectors. This meeting is considered an important step in further deepening the strategic cooperation between the two countries.
