President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attended a meeting of the country’s parliament and addressed the deputies. He emphasised that the main goal is to make Kazakhstan a developed country, and this is not just a slogan, but a specific task. This was reported by tg-channel Akorda.
The President proposed radical political reforms and deep changes in the country’s economy so that all measures contribute to the implementation of the principles of “Fair Kazakhstan”.
Noting the need to give a new impetus to socio-economic policy, the President of Kazakhstan informed about the new laws on taxation, budget and public procurement, which serve as a solid foundation for change in the state.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also nominated Olzhas Bektenov, an experienced civil servant, for the post of the new head of government. This candidate was supported by 69 deputies and seven deputies abstained. The new Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and declared his readiness to make every effort to fulfil the tasks assigned to the Government.
