NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg discussed the assassination attempt on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico by telephone with Slovak Deputy Prime Minister Robert Kalinak.

According to APA, the Secretary General made this statement on the social network X.

According to Stoltenberg, in his conversation with Kalinak, he expressed solidarity with Fico and the people of Slovakia.

‘The attack on PM is an attack on our democracies and societies. We must join forces to uphold our values,’ the NATO Secretary General wrote.

Recall that the assailant who shot Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico was charged today with manslaughter and faces twenty-five years in prison, with a possible sentence of life imprisonment.

Fico himself is in intensive care, doctors fought all night and morning for his life. However, the politician’s state of health is still considered critical by doctors.
