“Nuclear deterrence is the cornerstone of the security of the North Atlantic Alliance,” it said. – NATO reaffirms its commitment to all the decisions, principles and commitments on nuclear deterrence, arms control policy and non-proliferation and disarmament tasks set out in the declaration of the 2023 Alliance Summit in Vilnius.”
It also reaffirms that “arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation must continue to make an important contribution to the achievement of the Alliance’s security objectives and to NATO’s strategic stability” and collective security. In addition, the Alliance remains committed to taking all necessary measures to ensure the security of its nuclear weapons, including their modernization. NATO will also “strengthen its nuclear capabilities”.
