NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said at a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris that the USA and the European Union (EU) should increase their support for Ukraine in order to change the trajectory of the conflict. This follows a publication on the alliance’s website on 12 November.

Rutte emphasised that Europe, the US and global partners need to unite ‘to ensure the security and prosperity of our people’. He added that states must keep the alliance strong.

The NATO Secretary General also called support for Ukraine an ‘immediate challenge’ for the states.

Earlier, on 9 November, Colonel Douglas McGregor, a former advisor to the Pentagon chief, said that the Kiev regime would end if the West stopped supplies. According to him, this has happened to every US-backed foreign political force.

The special operation to protect Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on 24 February 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in the region.
