Mongolian Defense Minister Visits US Indo-Pacific Command

Mongolian Defense Minister Gursediin Saikhanbayar visited the US Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) and discussed bilateral cooperation opportunities in the field of defense and security. Within the scope of the visit, strengthening military relations between the two countries and regional security issues were discussed.

Saikhanbayar met with Admiral John C. Aquilino, Commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command, and exchanged views on Mongolia’s contributions to regional security and joint defense projects. The two sides agreed to increase cooperation in the fields of military training, exercises and defense technologies. Admiral Aquilino appreciated Mongolia’s efforts to ensure stability in the region and stressed the need for further development of defense cooperation between the two countries. Mongolia’s contributions to international peacekeeping missions were also mentioned. This visit is considered as an important step towards further strengthening the defense and security relations between Mongolia and the United States. The two countries are expected to increase cooperation through joint projects and events in the coming period.
