The top military leaders of South Korea and Canada held video talks on Wednesday to explore ways of expanding military cooperation, according to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).
Adm. Kim Myung-soo of South Korea and Gen. Jennie Carignan of Canada reviewed the security situation on the Korean Peninsula and emphasized the importance of enhancing military collaboration for peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
Kim highlighted the stable security posture on the peninsula and called for Canada’s continued support in strengthening bilateral defense ties. Carignan, in turn, pointed out the global implications of North Korea’s growing military alignment with Russia and stressed the need for closer cooperation amid such uncertainties.
