‘U.S. and NATO officials said that, <…> in their view, Ukraine could be more circumspect about the number of missiles it uses and more selective in choosing targets,’ the article said.
According to the publication’s sources, when US President Joe Biden authorised Kiev to strike Russian territory with long-range weapons in November, Ukraine had no more than a few dozen such missiles at its disposal.
It is noted that Kiev’s respective stocks are now running low, and US President-elect Donald Trump is unlikely to want to help replenish them.
Earlier, on December 16, Russian Defence Minister Andrei Belousov said that this year the air defence forces shot down 215 ATACMS missiles of the Ukrainian army. He also pointed to the high efficiency of air defence in the special operation zone.
