Hungary and Slovakia have begun consultations with the European Commission (EC) ahead of their legal action against Ukraine for blocking oil transit from Russia.
This was announced by the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó, the report said, citing foreign media outlets.
According to Szijjártó, stopping oil transit is a hostile decision, given that Ukraine imports electricity from Hungary.
He also said that Hungary and Slovakia are working on ‘legal solutions’ if the issue of stopping oil transit through Ukraine cannot be resolved soon.
‘The European Commission has three days to fulfil our request, after which we will take this case to court,’ he said.
