Kyrgyzstan aims to attract more investors to the green energy sector

Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic Talaibek Ibraev organised a meeting with companies involved in the development of “green” energy or renewable energy sources. The purpose of the event was to discuss the conditions for the further development of the sector, methods of attracting domestic and foreign investors to the energy sector. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

This time more than 50 companies took part in the annual meeting. Officials answered questions of entrepreneurs, and also made a presentation of equipment for the construction of power plants. In addition, businessmen were told how to work with the relevant documents and were informed about the current tariffs. Environmental issues and interaction with customs were also discussed.

The Minister emphasised the importance of constant interaction with potential investors, both domestic and foreign, for the development of the renewable energy sector. It was also emphasised that many of the problems faced by private entrepreneurs are already being resolved. Ibraev noted that now it is necessary to address previously unresolved problems.

Ibraev noted that the energy deficit in the country remains an urgent problem. He emphasised that one of the main goals of such meetings is to overcome the energy crisis in the country. He added that in case of difficulties in the construction of small hydropower plants, entrepreneurs should seek support directly from the ministry, bypassing intermediaries.
