The hydroelectric power plant, which will be located in the Bash-Aral, Kopye and Barkyrak sections, will be 60-70 kilometres long.
Minister of Economy and Trade of Kyrgyzstan Daniyar Amangeldiyev, together with Deputy Minister of Economy of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov, visited Chatkal district of Jalal-Abad region. The representatives of the two countries exchanged views on the construction of hydroelectric power plants, a motorway and a year-round ski resort. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Trade of the Kyrgyz Republic.
On the agenda was the Chatkal-Tashkent motorway, as well as a plan to build a number of hydroelectric power plants in lower Chatkal.
As part of the project to create a year-round resort, it is planned to build ski bases ‘Chapchyma’ on the territory of Chatkal and ‘Chatka’ on the territory of ‘Besh-salaa’.
The hydroelectric power station project envisages construction at the Five Bridges, Barkyrak and Aral sites. The hydroelectric power station will be located about 60-70 kilometres from the village of Ak-Tash in the Chatkal region.
