The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan signed a cooperation agreement aimed at realising projects in the field of ‘green’ energy using advanced technologies and practices.
The document was signed following the visit of Kyrgyz Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev to Japan, Trend reported on Monday, citing the Kyrgyz Ministry of Energy. During his visit, Ibraev met with Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Ken Saito.
The main objective of the document is to promote and expand energy cooperation between Japan and Kyrgyzstan in the field of alternative energy sources, new technologies and solutions.
In particular, it concerns the introduction of energy efficient solutions, the development of renewable energy sources, hydrogen energy, electric fuels, carbon processing, utilisation and storage, as well as high-efficiency electricity generation.
It should be noted that President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov held talks with the Japanese President on energy cooperation within the framework of his official visit to Japan in November 2023.
