The Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan emphasised that cooperation with the United Kingdom is essential for the development of the country.
Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan Maksat Asanaliev met with British Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Nicholas Bowler in Bishkek. During the meeting, topical issues of bilateral legal cooperation were discussed. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Kyrgyzstan.
Asanaliev emphasised the importance of interaction between Kyrgyzstan and the UK. According to him, both countries share common values, such as the rule of law and the protection of citizens’ rights.
Special attention was paid to the fight against corruption and the return of stolen assets. The Attorney General expressed satisfaction with the readiness of the United Kingdom to assist in this direction, emphasising that there is significant potential for further cooperation.
The possibility of exchanging experience and practical experience in the field of law enforcement was also discussed. Both sides expressed the view that this would contribute to improving the effectiveness of law enforcement and strengthening confidence between the legal systems of the two countries.
In the future, the parties plan to sign an interstate agreement on judicial assistance in criminal cases, which will help to respond more effectively to new challenges and threats in the fight against transnational crime.
