Kyrgyz Ministry of Labor and UN Agencies Discuss Progress in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals

Kyrgyz Minister of Labor, Social Security and Migration Ravshanbek Sabirov and United Nations (UN) agencies met to assess Kyrgyzstan’s progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). During the meeting, the steps taken to achieve the country’s development goals and future work were discussed.

In particular, the meeting reviewed progress made in areas such as poverty reduction, education, health, employment and environmental protection. Officials from the Ministry of Labor of Kyrgyzstan shared the steps taken by the country to achieve the SDGs and the challenges it faces. UN agencies commended Kyrgyzstan’s efforts to achieve the sustainable development goals, noting in particular the progress made in education and health. UN representatives noted that Kyrgyzstan needs more international support and cooperation to achieve these goals. They also exchanged views on future work and projects. In particular, the two sides agreed to increase cooperation on youth employment, women’s participation in economic life and the development of environmentally friendly policies.
