Between January and July 2024, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline transported more than 3.2 million tonnes of Turkmen and Kazakh oil.
According to Trend reports citing data from the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, this figure accounts for 18.7 per cent of the total volume of oil transported through the pipeline during the reporting period.
Thus, compared to the same period in 2023 (2.9 million tonnes), the volume of Kazakh and Turkmen oil transported through BTC increased by 10.5 percent.
The total volume of oil transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline from January to July 2024 was 17.2 million tonnes. Azerbaijani oil accounted for 81.3 percent (13.95 million tonnes) of the total volume of oil transported through this pipeline. In the 2024 reporting period, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan accounted for 75.4 percent of the 22.7 million tonnes of oil transported through Azerbaijan’s main oil pipelines.
