President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban held talks in Budapest in an extended format with the participation of members of official delegations, Trend reports.
Kasym-Jomart Tokayev expressed gratitude to the Hungarian side for the invitation and warm reception, noting the historical and cultural closeness of the two nations.
‘It is a great honour for me to be in the capital of Hungary, a friendly and brotherly state. The main purpose of my visit is to give a new impetus to the multifaceted co-operation between our countries,’ the President of Kazakhstan stressed.
The interlocutors discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation and reached a number of important agreements, including the establishment of the Kazakhstan-Hungary Investment Fund. The discussion focused on key areas of cooperation, such as trade and economic partnership, energy, oil and gas, transport and education.
In turn, Viktor Orban noted the importance of intensifying bilateral ties and expressed confidence in the successful implementation of the agreements reached.
‘Our countries have a common history and great prospects for strengthening co-operation. Today’s talks will create a basis for further co-operation in the interests of our peoples,’ the Hungarian Prime Minister said.
At the end of the meeting, Kasym-Jomart Tokayev invited Viktor Orban to pay a return visit to Astana.
