Deputy Prime Minister Serik Jumangarin said Kazakhstan is developing an alternative route to Afghanistan via Turkmenistan to increase trade volume from $1 billion to $3 billion, Trend reported.
“Currently, the volume of trade with Afghanistan is about $ 1 billion. Our task is to reach $ 3 billion. This is not possible without logistical preparations. Currently, the main route to Afghanistan passes through Uzbekistan, but an alternative route through Turkmenistan is also being developed,’ he said.
He added that Aktau will host the first trade and logistics forum with the participation of Afghan representatives by the end of June.
Jumangarin also said that a delegation from Afghanistan is expected to open an exhibition and sell its products in Almaty in early August.
“From 1 to 5 August, as last year, we are expecting a large delegation of Afghan businessmen.
This time they expressed their wish to hold their exhibition and sales in Almaty,’ he said.
