Within the framework of the international forum Digital Almaty 2025 in Almaty, a panel session titled “Protection of the new level: AI in the management of cyber threats and security systems” was held. According to the press service of the republican mincifra, experts discussed the application of artificial intelligence in information security, legislative initiatives and international cooperation in the field of data protection.
The system approaches of Kazakhstan were presented by Ruslan Abdikalikov, Chairman of the Committee on Information Security. He emphasized the role of AI in preventing data leaks, identifying vulnerabilities and protecting citizens. The country’s achievements include the integration of more than 220 government services with data protection platform and Bug Bounty platform. Kazakhstan is ranked 3rd in Tier 2 of the UN ITU rankings and aims to enter Tier 1. New initiatives include the launch of the Malicious Code Research Center, a cyber polygon and the expansion of the Cyber Shield-2 program. The forum also discussed AI and cloud technologies as drivers of investment in the region.
