Kazakhstan’s authorities are negotiating with the authorities of Egypt, Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the creation of free trade zones in these countries.

This was announced by the Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic Arman Shakkaliev, APA reports with reference to Sputnik Kazakhstan.

“An agreement (on the establishment of a free trade zone) was signed with Singapore, the agreement is undergoing internal procedures. Negotiations are also underway with Egypt, Indonesia and the UAE on the creation of a free trade zone,” Shakkaliev said.

He noted that Kazakhstan is currently cooperating with Serbia, Vietnam and Iran in the free trade regime.

According to the Minister, within the framework of eliminating excessive pressure of imports on domestic production, a situational headquarters for the protection of the domestic market will be created in order to stimulate an increase in the competitiveness of the products of domestic producers, a register of goods of Kazakh origin: “The register will be open to all interested parties and will be the only source of information on goods of Kazakh origin to provide measures of state support.
